The Detour of Comfort: Navigating Familiar Routes in Life

Greetings, dear readers! Welcome back to The Grace Diary, where we dive into the intersection of our everyday experiences and the timeless truths found in the Word of God. Today, we embark on a journey inspired by a personal revelation during the closure of schools last November. Join me in exploring the profound parallels between a simple commute and the intricate tapestry of our Christian lives. My Personal Experience In November, a peculiar revelation unfolded during a period when schools were closed, and my daily routine seemed to be humming along as usual. Despite leaving my home on time, I found myself consistently arriving late at work, a puzzling deviation from my regular punctuality. My initial self-assurance attributed the tardiness to heavy traffic on the route to town. Day after day, I consoled myself with this explanation until a moment of realization prompted me to reconsider. One day, determined to solve the mystery of my perpetual lateness, I decided to deviate from the

Happy 2021🎊🎊🎊

Dear 2021,

None of us thought of seeing the end of 2020. The year has been tough. We have experienced great losses but by God's grace, we have emerged strong and extremely excited to usher you in.

When 2020 started, we were all hopeful. Hopeful that things would work out for good. We all bravely declared '2020 is My Year!'. However, when COVID-19 came knocking on our doors, everything was shuttered. People lost jobs. Some experienced enormous salary cuts. Businesses came crumbling. and yet, we welcome you with great joy even though we are sceptical of what you hold for us.

In 2020, we have experienced great loss and not just material loss. We have been drained emotionally and mentally. With our social lives being disrupted for a while with 'STAY AT HOME' being the new law, we had to adjust to the new normal. With the 'invisible enemy' being amongst us, we have lost friends, family and colleagues to it. Despite all this, we are strong. We choose to move on. To pick the pieces and move forward.

So dear 2021, we can not dictate what events you should unveil to us neither can we tell with certainty how things will turn out. all we can do is to be hopeful. hopeful that you shall be a year of restoration just as we have been promised in Joel 2:25 - I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.

To 2020, you have taught us lessons that have made us better. Lessons such as being mindful of what we eat otherwise we may end up causing havoc to the whole worldπŸ˜‚. That aside! You have taught us to cherish every moment we spend with our families, friends and colleagues because we know not when will be the last time. You have taught us to appreciate our little freedoms such as breathing fresh air and not having to wear a mask. You have also taught us to create opportunities for ourselves in the midst of calamities. Even though you have left us with wounds, you also leave us with life-lessons that we shall never forget. You were a SEASON with a REASON!

For the things that happened in 2020; things that have caused us pain and sorrow, we leave them in 2020. just as we have been instructed in Isaiah 43:18-19 - Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. We now focus on 2021 and see what it holds for us.

2021, it is your time. Don't be too hard on us but we hope you come bearing blessings.

HAPPY 2021πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
