The Detour of Comfort: Navigating Familiar Routes in Life

Greetings, dear readers! Welcome back to The Grace Diary, where we dive into the intersection of our everyday experiences and the timeless truths found in the Word of God. Today, we embark on a journey inspired by a personal revelation during the closure of schools last November. Join me in exploring the profound parallels between a simple commute and the intricate tapestry of our Christian lives. My Personal Experience In November, a peculiar revelation unfolded during a period when schools were closed, and my daily routine seemed to be humming along as usual. Despite leaving my home on time, I found myself consistently arriving late at work, a puzzling deviation from my regular punctuality. My initial self-assurance attributed the tardiness to heavy traffic on the route to town. Day after day, I consoled myself with this explanation until a moment of realization prompted me to reconsider. One day, determined to solve the mystery of my perpetual lateness, I decided to deviate from the

Our Talents.

Moses was once a herd man right before God called him to save Israelites from Egypt. As much as Moses was hesitant about this mission, he obeyed God's voice and went to Egypt. After the Egyptians suffered ten plagues due to Pharaoh's hardened heart, the Israelites were finally set free. But for them to get to The Promised Land, they had to cross The Red Sea! This seemed next to impossible not only to the Israelites but also to Moses. But God had not brought them that far for Him to dessert them and so He asked Moses, "What is it that you have in your hands?" And when Moses said he had a rod and was instructed to use his stick to strike the waters of the sea and a way was created for the Israelites to cross.

The question that you and I need to ask ourselves is "What is it that I have that God can use to bless me?" Every single human is unique and different and this is the beauty of life. With this in mind, then you can agree with me that we all have our talents. For some, the talents are easily identified but for some, the talents have to discover along the way. There's this one with that all of us do effortlessly because they are our talents. And that is what we have.

However, there is a catch! We are expected to put our talents into work. Just because we have certain talents, it does not mean that we can never lose them. Talents are God-given and as so as He gives, so He can take. Our talents should be used wisely; and this calls for hard work, dedication and determination. Matthew 25:14-30 clearly describes how God can reward us based on how we use our talents and also how he can take what we have when we fail to put our talents into action.

Talents were not to be hidden, for if we hide them, we will not benefit anything. Celebrities could not be celebrities if they shied their talents. Joseph could not be an Egyptian governor if he did not interpret the dreams of his fellow inmates. David could have never step foot in Saul's palace or even be a king if he played his harp in secret. And what about the 5,000 men? Would they have been fed if the little boy didn't have 5 loaves and 2 fish with him? Certainly not.

God has given us talents so that He may bless us through them. God uses what we have to bring to our prosperity. It is therefore up to us to discover our talents and also use them wisely. And once we discover them, it does not mean that we are at liberty to brag about them since God can take them away from us.

Talents come with hard-work, staying focused and always trying to better ourselves and those around us. And with, God will bless us with more. As it is said in Psalms 90 verse 17, God will establish the work of our hands.
Be blessed! Perfect what you have!
